Everyone Has a Story

If you followed my previous blog, How To Be An Inspiration you may have wondered why it tailed off and what happened next. Over the next few posts, I shall endeavour to catch you up with the relevant goings-on over the last five years. But why start a new blog now?
Well, firstly I’ve missed blogging. I’m a writer by heart and it’s been frustrating not to have a voice (both figuratively and literally ā€“ but we’ll come to that). To write anything I used to use an iPad, picking out each letter on the on-screen keyboard with a stylus, a physically tiring and laborious process that, over time, became just too exhausting and time-consuming. But as both technology and my condition progressed, I find myself in a different situation, one which presents me with both the time and the means to blog again.
Secondly, a tragic event has occurred which has made me realise that life is precious and it is short. My younger brother Mark died in August of pneumonia as a result of complications arising from muscular dystrophy. Our family asked me to write the eulogy and to read it at the funeral. In writing about Mark, I realised I still had a lot to say.
So, I hope you’ll join me with Every Breath I Take.

Thank you Facebook. This popped up in my newsfeed today. How wonderful to read your blog and catch up with all your news. Can’t believe we’ve lived in Australia for over 8 years. This has stirred up and brought back so many happy memories from Stripes to Hopes and Dreams and beyond. Blessings to you both. XX

I’m a GP and a friend of a friend of yours (Jacq) – she recommended your blog to our little learning group. I’m very glad she did as you write so candidly and engagingly, teaching us so much about the human side of medical experience. Thanks so much and I wish you all the best, I will now be a follower.
